Education
I will be a student as long as there is something new to learn – I have great interest in the arts, the sciences, and the application of technology to solving problems.  I have learned enough to earn certification in the areas of visual art, business/marketing/management, computer applications, general science, gifted education, health education, language arts, and social science.

Current Engagements
I have recently transitioned from middle school education to higher education, and I am currently serving as the instructor for several 100- and 300-level geology courses. In my geology courses, students use a variety of hands-on and visual formats to broaden their understanding of the earth, its history, and how human interactions affect the environment at large.
I have also taught a 300-level e-Commerce course, where students were engaged in every step of developing a business from scratch before launching an online presence for their business.
While my core focus is in higher education, I also work with teens at Pekin's community arts center and work with students in grades K-8 through an earth science outreach program with the Peoria Academy of Science. I have also taught in my roles as Master Naturalist and 4-H volunteer, including workshops in 3D design, filmmaking, video game design, geology, reproducible art, and the culinary arts.
